Another Day
Another Day
Is there a room where I can cry in peace
A place of silent sympathy, I’ve never found
Jumping out of the window becomes appealing
After all, it’s better than staring at the ceiling
A cozy hole to hide and let the traffic drive over
A secret place where I can be me and stop pretending
I want to stop this farce and sit still, while there’s time
A walk along a beach with an empty head, sleep, peace
I don’t have voices as such, just pressing thoughts
Words that pester and unfulfilled dreams fester
You know I’ve never won, never even drawn
If I was a team, I’d be relegated year after year.
But what the heck, on the block goes my neck
Good for everyone who cares to walk on by.
And on to tomorrow, start again, not knowing why.
