Sheriff Koplin was talking with Tom on how it had been a quiet week Not one crime had been reported for the town of Milton Creek Then a US Marshal knocked on the door and then came inside Said he was looking for a fugitive who in this town did once reside. He told them the Dingo Kid had managed to break out of Yuma jail And the marshal assured them that he was hot on Dingo's trail There was laughter because Sheriff Koplin remembered his crime He'd had his way with a horse and had been in Yuma doing time. He was a known troublemaker when he lived in Milton Creek town. And it was just by chance sheriff caught him with his pants down The sheriff had been passing the stables when he'd heard moaning Went in to the stable to investigate and the poor filly was groaning. The marshal added "he was overheard saying he wanted revenge And was hoping to team up with outlaws, Jo Haines and Billy Henge" Sheriff said" we'll form a posse and we'll help you track 'em down They'll be sorry if they come looking for trouble in our peaceful town". Then new Deputy Terry walked in along with Texas Ranger Dave Sheriff said, "morning boys we have a situation that is quite grave" And added " We got a fugitive on the loose that lowlife the Dingo Kid But struggled to keep a straight face when he told them what he did". Mayor Tom said I'll go and get Jenna, Deb Lin and Tania too Jenna needs a horse cos hers is lame and hopping like a kangaroo Sheriff said " we'll meet up in an hour outside Jenna's saloon And I hope to be well on our way before the sun hits noon. They'd been riding for about an hour when Jenna spotted smoke Dingo Kids poor attempt to stay hidden was something of a joke The posse slowly approached the camp and there wasn't a peep Haines who'd been keeping guard was snoring and fast asleep. Ranger Dave fired two shots in the air and then shouted "wake up boys" Haines and Henge went for their guns and Dave shot them 'tween the eyes Dingo Kid was now shaking with fear and then soiled his white pants Then started cursing loudly; he was well known for his childish rants. The marshal put cuffs on him and then they heaved him up on to his horse Then they buried the thrash that was with him and for town they set course It was late evening when they got back in town and Dingo Kid was put in jail The marshal then told him tomorrow its Yuma and Dingo Kid went pale. Lin said "its double steak night at Aces Mayor Tom said he'd pay " Then drinks on me later" Jenna said" a great way to end the day" It was just another exciting chapter in the ongoing saga of our town And from the jail you could hear cursing as the sun was going down. Your cowboy stories have become popular my friend. Milton Creek has lots of adventures - Now it's dingo kid and his poor horse that is suffering. He must suffer the consequences and be punished and Dingos poor horse adorned with flowers and marched through Milton Creek. Great poem as always dear Tom. Blessings Jennifer.

That Dingo Kid should be locked up for life Tom. What a terrible thing to do to an innocent Horse. He will not get my representation in court. He is on his own. May the prosecutor have his way with him and sit him on the horse he had taken advantage of, put a Noose around his neck, and slapped the horses ass and hang him. The horse will get his revenge. Dingo will hang there as the horse runs and the folks get a good laugh at this blemish to society. LOL. Keep em coming Tom lol.

Tom, you did an excellent job writing this poetry. Throughout, you've used the imagery of the highest caliber. At the very least, he was captured before getting into the city. I was afraid he'd be found among the cows housed in the barns since there were other farm animals.

I like the way you’ve written this poem using dark humour Tom, intended for a real shady character, trying to make a return from Yuma Jail in the outback, I can see a lot of thought went into this one, with some great hints and allusion throughout, but it had to be done, thanks for the mention, oh yeah split the bounties for Haines and Henge between the posse, cheers David
