Anointed Dawn
The dawn's quiet benediction
sanctified the soft drizzle
that dripped through the canopy
of that majestic mahogany,
touching my humbled head,
silently anointing me.
Strange, but through shut eyes
I could more clearly see,
and, ever more firmly,
I believed in forever,
and, somehow, naively,
felt truly saved all over !
