Hot, angry words ignite and sear the soul Like darkened embers lingering on the soil Can hurt the ill-shod foot, burning the sole. Hot, angry words ignite and sear the soul In each case, the pain quickly takes its toll Emotional flare-ups create bitter turmoil.
