Angels Touch the Earth
The soft color of red,
turned ever so slowly to pink… carnations.
The grand color of blue,
the sky, the ocean,
the color of my new born daughter’s eyes.
They are just like yours my love.
A mirror, to see heaven in their eternal reflection.
Today my daughter was born.
The world is brighter, and everything is sharper.
I will scale a building and place a flag.
I will fly a plane with a giant banner.
I will take a ship to the moon,
just to bring back real cheese…
to share with everyone I meet.
“Today my daughter was born.”
I will go now and get a horse.
Perhaps a pony so she can learn to ride.
I will go now and buy a castle,
so she can live in a fairy land…
I will go now and buy a puppy…
as she will need a steadfast bodyguard,
when I am at work.
I have too many things
to do and she just got here.
I need to make a list.
I need to remember…
to be grateful…
I am a blessed man indeed.
I was given not only a lovely wife,
but God sent me a second angel,
to bless my life yet again,
abundantly.
