Angels Danced
He was addicted to drugs and drink and all the things that would lead him to depression and despair. I reached out to him with what I hoped was love, but found out soon that it would never be enough. His heart was so huge he gave of himself much more than I ever imagined I could. He listened and cared and never knew a stranger. He was living on a prayer with only hope and honesty. I tried to change him even though he was good. I didn’t want him to die even though I knew that he would. I thought of those words when they lowered the casket with him in it. Angels danced the day you were born, and they wept when they welcomed you home.
Addiction consumes
No one can outlive it’s hold
Death arrives slowly
