This happened to me December 28, 2017...

Ideas ringing in my head silenced in workplace's stead So many years they called to me vainly yearning to be set free One morning the system went down eliciting many a sigh and a frown But my ideas begged me to show 'em ~ And so I wrote my first poem October 11, 2020 ...and so I wrote a poem Contest Sponsor: John Lawless

Nice to hear that someone's happy about my late poetic blooming beside me... And I'm grateful as well as glad. It's given me a wonderful outlet in retirement. Thank you so much for your touching comment, ilene. Best always, Gershon

So you've only been writing poetry for a few years, Gershon? Wow, you certainly write poems well. When there was down time at work, I would scribble portions of novels. Wrote four that way. I really enjoyed your entry and feel certain it's a winner! Hugs, Carolyn

You wrote four novels at work?!!! I'm in awe, Carolyn. I sneaked in a few lines here and a few lines there for my last couple of years at the 'salt mines.' Thanks for commenting, Gershon

Somehow I thought you had been writing poems since you were a 'wee lad' - I guess it is life experience that makes them so layered and introspective (and witty too!)

Thank you for your kind words,... and I was a very late bloomer poetry-wise. I more or less despised it in school... Shows that old dogs can learn new tricks, I guess. Smiles, Gershon
