And So I Wrote a Poem
I sat in the waiting room of the hospital
with nothing to do with my time
and so I wrote a poem
I felt the fire burning inside me
to share the good news with the world
and so I wrote a poem
I wanted to praise and thank the Lord
with my limited words of worship
and so I wrote a poem
I wished to pen down my thoughts
in order to appease my mind
And so I wrote a poem
I love the words in a rhyme,
they touch my heart and soul
and so I write a poem.
