And read at right time and place -2
Words voiced, right time and stead,
E’en clichéd, trite, sound enticing,
As disrobing in bed
Be fetching and fascinating.

Translation |17.09.2024| poem, right time
Poet’s note: Sanskrit has thousands of verses of wisdom called Subhashhitam. This one is taken from my selection of translations, and second one of the twain. It talks of a poem read at the right time. The first one was one not read at the right time. The example given here to illustrate the point is also striking and humorous. The transliteration of the Sanskrit verse follows:
Avasare pathitaa vaani, guna-gana rahita api, shobhate punsaam |
Rati samaye ramaninaam, bhooshhaa haanih vibhooshhanam bhavati ||
