An Occasional Necessity

Why should everything be about rules?
Why can’t we push the envelope a little and have some fun?

Why live in a space where rules
have the ability to decide our happiness...

What about the woman that touched the hem of his garment?
if she followed the rules she would still be ill.
What about the woman who took the oil and washed Jesus’ feet?
The disciples felt that what she was going, were against "the rules"
but in the end she blessed the Master in the best way she possibly could…

How many of us were disillusioned by sticking to the rules?
Life should sometimes be about having fun
not everything in life is plain and simple,
neither are the rules that we are
sometimes compelled to adhere to
sometimes rules are meant to be broken,
even if it is just to make someone's day...

Wilma, I am right with you on this. I just get a little fed up with "rules" and even more so with people who think they know the rules better than others and feel the need to enforce them on everyone else. Hey, if you want to follow rules, fine, I say, but why try to force your limitations on me? I have never tried to convince any one here what thier poem should be called or how it should be written - why do so many feel the need to do it to others?

Don't reveal the truth if it tends to hurt others? Give of yourself the best you know how? I like it Wilma.

Some folks take silly rules too seriously. Of course, "rules" or "laws" are necessary to protect people, but there are many rules that could be discarded and make life simpler and happier. Very wise, Wilma. Love, Carolyn

I'll not vaunt knowledge here Wilma, or pretend that I've not fractured innocence, yet....what Linda said is my perception of true happiness ! If Jehovah's heart is smiling...I'm thrilled ! I admire your flow of words here Wilma, a true sign of an interesting poet ! james

Great piece Wilma unfortunately rules are necessary in our society ... even the Bible has rules for us to follow to have a great life on Earth... sometimes we can divert..push the envelope ..but better to seek His Face first... keep believing he has the best for u always.. and it will show up...promise my friend..with luv..

Great write that is very true..I am glad that the woman anointed him with the oil, the woman touched the wings of his garment, that he touched the man with leprocy...I know that he has come with healing in his wings and that I can be healed...Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my blog...We are going to need the prayers from everyone for the next few weeks..God can heal and does heal..I am hoping for that healing for us...Thanks again..Sara
