"Amid the jagged shadows of mossy leafless boughs; "
Samuel Taylor Coleridge
“Amid the jagged shadows of mossy leafless boughs. . .”
tiny life will pass, the listless morning hours.
Hear the daytime whispers of the frogs and creatures rare.
Many make a habitat among the shadows there.
Let their nighttime mating calls send echoes to our souls
amid the reeds and grassy marsh that round them all enfolds.
As we move among them, let us honor their surrounds
and cherish with a listening ear, the beauty of the sounds.
Amid the autumn woods of brown that sometimes crack and sing
you may just behold the beauty of most anything,
as lovely tawny fawns appear with large inviting eyes
behind the leafless trees of black beneath the pale grey skies.
