Alone With Your Thoughts

"If you aren't in the moment, you are either looking forward to uncertainty, or back to pain and regret." Jim Carrey So much sorrow is found within the mind that wanders Whilst it is the greatest joy To be alone with your thoughts It often leads to anguish In between the elation of realisation Are the torment of the ungrasped thoughts The mood that lurks A floating memory just waiting for it's time To unleash some harm on a quiet unsuspecting moment The burden you can't unload Being alone with yourself Is a dangerous game Where you have to watch what you say For fear of reprisal

Its weird why our mind takes us back to more sad time when we are sad... just the way it works I suppose. Loved your poem DD I can definitely relate to it.

Love the quote! Oddly when I flash to memories, rarely are they bad memories. However, good memories can leave one sad when you start missing that person in the good memory. Still, it's always worth it:) Good to read you today, DD.

Thanks DT, my memories are usually alright to be fair, it's an odd word or a concept, just a random thing to pick at the psyche. The poem itself is a bit unfinished really - I'm letting it sit to see if I like it :)
