Alone With My Thoughts

Living alone in my trailer With thoughts that are not my own Not having to share a beer Hearing no new stories Singing no songs I am wasted, In more ways than one Ask me if I care..... My mother would switch to the blues From country, if she saw me now The cherry blossoms outside a dirty window Remind me of another time When I was clean and loved I have no place to go but up My mother is probably smiling from heaven Thinking I'm okay But I am not I take another sip of beer feeling a tiny bit better

This was written in response to a "country song" writing prompt; I do not drink beer and I am never lonely.
