All Souls Eve Comes With Horror

Goblins prance and dance beneath skylights; Their contortions create shadows as they swirl. Ghouls are disgusted by their cavorting and go along their way; searching for victims to terrify; a game they relish. Ghosts will have their say in the darkest night and haunt children’s dreams. Nightmares are where they meet to party. On All Souls Eve, only the spirits of ancestors and angels will stop these dream invaders; monsters will run back into closets for safety; keep the light on tonight; souls are not the only celebrants. In the clear light of morning, candy swaps ensure comfort until next year.

Hello MLK, You scared the little kid still in me (all these years later), with the way in which you describe "All Souls Eve." The resultant candy in the light of the morning helped to chase the goblins and ghouls away. (At least I hope so!!) Enjoyed it!! Best Always, Gary

I think this is beautifully done! I am looking up All Soul's Eve now, as I had heard it before but you used it in a wonderful way, adding romance to this spookfest poem.
