Alice Meets Ulysses
ALICE MEETS ULYSSES
On a string up in the sky her activity was flying a cat.
She just wouldn’t say, the lips were sealed,
Up there with ceiling wax. She said
I don’t reveal secrets, don’t let the cat out of the dog.
Just relax, be lax re tax,
Have a cucumber sandwich, perhaps a hamcumber samburger.
Later we might visit Sackpool Bland and the Bower Tallroom *
Or go swimming with gills and feet, like a fizard.
But at the moment I am clean upping with the mowlawner
She said, so we sat, the two of us too, to watch
As the planet tworld around that day,
Wondering if the croquet game was better with the
Queen of Harts and all the dear deer -
Oh dear dear , oh deer deer :
Only two things outa Texas - steers and queers
But my car steers badly, so I guess she’ll
Reign in Spain mainly on the plane.
