Age Brings Aches and Pains

I am holding things out farther so I can read them Until I realize they are still fuzzy So I get 1.5 reading glasses After a bit I am happier with 3.0 reading glasses I used to exercise a lot. I was svelte and happy But I am starting to sit more now My rear end is hurting Because I have had shingles And they did not go away totally They are still tender and unkind In constant pain and grumpy now Old age is not for everyone This must be why many do not reach it They are simply not brave enough To endure the aches and pains The sore knees, the sore backs and the tender posterior I am holding my own, but barely. Wishing my body would change. Mind over matter, and yet, some things cannot be replenished now.

True, Caren. This is what happens. Mind over matter is important and writing poetry through it too :)

It is weird how fast the body ages.

Welcome to the club, Caren! The one good thing about old age is that it ends! I'll soon be 82, an age I never thought I'd reach. I have my problems, of course, but not as bad as some have. Still, ageing has advantages though short-lived. / M

It is so strange to think of age at all, I never had before.

Not to mention the games age plays on the brain. Hugs xx
