The big O's in our lives bring emotions Like age 10's joy Twenty's pride Thirty's Awe Grief? Sometimes Along trail Apprehension What's lies in wait on the path at eight O

I can certainly relate to this. I like your dignified approach to aging. I’ve taken a different approach with my poem “Psyche and Flesh” if you’re interested. John

Hi Sara, When I was in my thirties, I celebrated my neighbour's birthday with her. When I remarked that it must be a blessing to reach the age of eighty with good health, she remained quiet for a while. "I am grateful for everything, but it would sure have been nice still to have had my friends around ...". Thanks for this poem that triggered fond memories. I really went overboard with my tetractys: RHYME :)) ~ Sus

Sus, Well, they say the only way to make it if you live to a great old age is to make younger and younger friends along the way so as not to left alone. My parents lived to be almost 97 and for a long time they both made younger friends who enriched their lives. In the end, they only had what family that was left. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

That's less than 10 yrs. away for me and I don't know but there is an ugly old woman in my mirror who won't go away. I think she's trying to scare me. This is a fine write and I do so love the God Bless, JB

Judy, I am on the other side of three-quarters of a century in a little while and my husband is turning 80. He is worried about Alzheimer's Disease since that or something like that is in his family on both his mother's and father's side. He is having a really hard time with memory and he is scared. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

- You're a great woman with a young soul :) - A new "0" does not matter, only the treasures inside, Sara :) - But, when the body gets shorter and the stories longer ... and longer ... it's the time which goes way too fast :) - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

SS, I agree but we all face emotions when changes come. Also, the shortened body and taller tales. LOL..Your visit was comforting. Sara

Alexis, So far so good. We never know what lies ahead. I do know who holds the future though and that makes all the difference. Your presence is so encouraging. Sara

At 80, your mindset is still 25 until you see yourself in a mirror! Aloha! Rico

Rico, I have told my daughters inside this old woman is a little girl, a teenager, a bride, a new mother, a grandmother and now a great grandmother. We carry it all to our graves and I am sure for eternity. Yes, the mirror or reflections in windows, etc. are great revealers. Thanks for dropping by my works. Sara.

As I approach a new "0" this summer, I have been thinking about the good times associated with each age. If my sister is any indicator, growing older has special rewards -- grandchildren are among them. Lovely verse, Sara! Hugs, Carolyn

I've heard it said youth is wasted on the young. I wish we could be born old and age backward like Benjamin Button.

Carolyn, There is always good in each day even if there is some bad. I have bad days and I have good days and those good days are really sweet. Sometimes a little good in a day makes the bad more bearable. Thanks for the visit. Sara

I turn 60 this year. I still feel young as long as I avoid reflective surfaces. Well expressed Sarah. Hugs Rick.

Richard, Each new 0 brings different things for different people. I am sure that these next ten years will be great for you. I can't see details in the snapshot of you but from what I can see you are still young. Your comments were encouraging. Thanks for the visit. Sara

Regina, Each person's path is different only God knows the future. My husband said he is old when now facing the big 80..That is what inspired the poem. He is still very active if he can do it on the golf cart or on the hover round. He can't stand because of spinal problems(mainly stenosis even after three surgeries). He loves to garden, cut grass, and be outside. Thanks for dropping by. Sara
