You have sacrificed yourself sweet Jesus for our redemption Yet we celebrated Hare's Day instead of Your holy Resurrection! © Demetrios Trifiatis 17 April 2017 * Although the poem that was chosen as POTD on Easter Sunday is a fine one as a poem, I find it most inappropriate to celebrate our Lord's Resurrection. We have to remember that Easter Sunday has to do with our Lord's victory over Death and not with a hare's sweet eggs. It is not the case that I do not love the poet or the poem but I love Jesus more! PS: I know this might cost me dearly but I must defend our Lord's Passion.

I am too small to comment on such very serious matter ... But what I can say is that the first line of your couplet is very true ... It sounds lovely ... And the grievance in the second seems quite justified ...

I do agree it would be more meaningful to honour a more relavant piece however not all believe as we do and because our God gives us free choice whom are we to interfere with another's. I do appreciate how you honour our Lord and Saviour and as a result touch many readers.

Richard, my friend, if the believe something different then they should say so and they should adore their holy hare and not confuse Jesus' resurrection with sweet eggs! Your comment is more a comment of a diplomat and less a comment of a faithful my friend. Of course you have free will and you may comment as you please! Thank you!

i myself fasted during this day to honour his trials easter eggs is just greedy peoples way of trying to reap rewards on a holy day making it all about yellow chicks rabbits everything false that can be pulled out of a hat advertising such a day on television is all about money these days your post hits it squarely as it should be

Great to read your work again Dear friend. Yes indeed we to thought your Easter Poem would have received POTD and it seems your fans thought that too - after all it's Easter and you definitely put a lot of thought into it. On the bright side - if the Creator didn't have a sense of humor he wouldn't have created us Humans - Your couplet has such a humorous twist indeed - Enjoyed it. Dearest Maria, I do not write for my poem to be declared POTD, I write to pass a message of peace, faith and love of God and man alike! My 1541 poems show that clearly! I do not run after recognitions and never take part in contests but I fight for what I believe! What happened here is wrong! Read my today's poem( 18 April). Thank you for your visit and comment!

It's good to know someone is awake. 100% with you brother. I remember as a child everywhere closed for two weeks and people went to church. When I see the changes about us today I am drawn to the book of Revelation. I feel sad for those whose have eyes but don't see, have ears but don't hear such loss makes my heart heavy. Jesus is the answer for this world today if we see and know it why oh why can't they. Bless you brother. x
