Afterglow

Sun
Go down
Let my face
befriend darkness
So he may not seek
these lips of mine that plead
that beg needy for his kiss
Nor feel my aching for his touch
So He may not look me in the eyes
and find there the afterglow of his love

It hurts when you feel a love is lost and the heart does not want them to see that the flame is still burning, if only a little, but still enough to send a light that they might see.
