oh you are so lucky if you saw this. I tried to view it through leaves of a tree using a colander like it said online. Utah was only at 50%. I saw nothing but maybe if I'd just had those glasses!!

I did feel lucky, and the feeling of witnessing the eclipse has lingered with me. Hats off to you for trying so hard. I hadn't heard of using a collander. Our little town provided residents with the special glasses...kind of generous of them to do so. Have a great evening, hugs, Sara

So bizarre, how dark it got for a few minutes. Then, like you wrote, kaboom - Lights are on again. As if nothing happened. Kinda glad I didn't drive 500 miles to watch. Smiles, Gershon

I agree...felt a bit bizarre..that mid afternoon darkness and how quiet the birds got. The moments linger with me though. I thought I was witnessing a miracle. Thanks for your visit & enjoy your evening, Sara

I'll call it a lover's fight and we know who wins. Such a beautiful and unexplainable experience.

I agree, dear Sotto. We're fortunate that we live in a time when eclipses are understood, not shrouded in some dark fear. We have a neighbor who truly believed that the eclipse was a sign of the apocalypse...stocked up on food, etc. Hope you have a pleasant evening, your poetess friend in Texas, Sara

Right. Nice haiku. I must say that we can watch it here. Too much rain and cover skies. This time we missed it. Great haiku my dear Saraxxxx

I can see why ancients could perceive the event as scary whereas we understand and see the event as almost miraculous. Appreciate you stopping by, Sara
