After

When I meet that time appointed, after, I expect angels, a company from heaven's throne, to meet me in that place unknown, yet known. What once was darkened glass reflecting death, shadowing life, becomes now transparent pane, pristine this view of heaven's King, and God's abode. My spirit unencumbered, featherweight without its mortal coil, body shed, my soul entwined in angel arms, to heaven's house takes wing. Through heaven's eastern gate, unrestricted, I enter with the angels a realm of radiance hued with precious stones, as a bride adorned. No more the strife of temporal thought, no more ache, no more lament, no more fettered pilgrimage, for He Who lights this heaven bids me home.
