Adrift

Oh this world, I just can’t figure out Where I am standing among those I see around I can’t find a place, no place seems steady enough Why am I drifting in this broken icy sheet? While I can see the land where others stand I don’t know how I am going to reach so far This can’t be it, this icy cold life Nameless faces with aimless eyes You got to just get lost for some time Whenever this sinking feeling envelops the lost I seem to be buoying in the ocean, with my head turned down Gulping in salty water mixed with my own tears to add on At the water’s edge u stand to see A silent lady adrift at sea Rising and sinking with the waves Floating into sight, only to sink away in fright To brave a leap or huddle up with hope The choices is seen, to decide is to break Bared to another, life not controlled by none Cared for, yet stranded among sightless unknowns Throw me a rope, row me a boat, and swim me a savior I don’t see me standing up long in this freezing cold A spark of fire might save my frozen heart, Yet will burn away my makeshift raft Drinking in the silent day, the beauty even cold inspires today Bathe in mist, uplift from the raging rift With howling winds to steer the frozen limbs Hunched to the hissing, howling, wondrous winds Eyes wide open, I see where I am, where I have come from But far sighted I am not, I see nothing but a blur ahead Crazy as this may seem, I don’t fancy a reprieve tonight I know I fell over the fences, down the broken ice I am just glad to have the last few minutes to savor the light Where i might land is a quick dream, making it true is beyond me Within all this chaos i get my silence, a thought to form in mind To float or swim, to the shore i move. Final step be mine to take.

nicely written, i actually saw a raft with a person drifting aimlessly in the seas; i liked the way you described the never ending journey, and it made me sad too. well done! cheers!
