Across Empty Spaces

Staring at a blank document,
Give me the key to open the box.
Any other day, I'd be flooded by thoughts.
Music on the left, female form above,
Empty space to the right.
It's becoming too quiet at night.
Burnt bridges,
I would like to reconnect.
Passing the time,
Bless your kind soul.
Fallen too deep,
Left the Mediterranean seas,
To rediscover myself.
Slight regret,
Thinking it was better to be blinded,
At least I had someone by my side.
Questioning advice,
If you had witnessed my sight,
Even you would find traditions hard to believe.
So where would that leave one that no longer knows "want"?
Drifting,
Spent many years avoiding the grind,
Find myself now pleading for more as it distracts the mind.
Whatever it was you saw in me, I can no longer see.
Afraid of the outside,
Know far too well within,
Negativity screams always in her voice.
Never set out to offend thee,
No such bone.
Damn this vessel I occupy,
No lies when behind a screen,
Repeat,
When will the two ends meet?
In my case, it's a lost dream.
Evidence shows,
Hand on my heart, I appreciate your eyes.
Passing the time.
