You warm me when I’m cold
Filling my heart with reassurance
You light up the darkest night
Surrounding me with fresh insight
You twinkle softly through my heart
Enlightening, encouraging, embracing
With hues of kindness, you lift me up
Coloring my life with reminders
Of all the love that has been there
Guiding me, providing for me, silencing
The worries and fears, the struggles
That sometimes bring me to tears
You fall soft like lingering showers
Upon a misty afternoon, blessing
All the hearts who feel the downpour
A melody of delights, rousing dreams
Bleeding through melancholy with joy
Inspiring the heart to reach for more
Imagination, inspiration, inclination
Toward laughter, longing and love
Flowing down from the heavens above
You comfort my sorrow and hurt
Lift the shadows of discouragement
With a promise of serenity and faith
For the amazement found in grace
The delight found in unending praise
Of the One who created everything
The One who taught me to give and to live
With appreciation for all that I see
Gratefulness for the moon and the stars
The buttery sun and the song from birds
Whispering prayers of penetrating fancies
You are the answer to many of my questions
The light in the dark, the happiness in my heart
You are the one who never fades, never dies
You always give more than you expect to gain
And I love to know you are mine… abiding hope
Within my soul where you continue to live and grow
