How does it feel to be unwanted,
forgotten and abandoned?
Spectral memories leave me haunted
with no ground to stand on.
Ever wishing only to belong,
drifting through my life alone
to the sad tune of a heartbreak song
like a leaf the wind has blown.
Skin and bones and growing old,
enduring more, unable,
floating from the street of cold,
I join the welcome table.
