- Abandon -

 Poetry Contest

Sponsored by: Constance La France

~a dark void in the soul - a pain that is difficult to see ~ - quote by poet The voice is faded, the gaze blurred Thoughts live dark and senselessly twisted Ghosts rule his psyche when darkness falls He has seen them before, terribly gloomy The butterflies have been replaced by bats No one survived ... why did he survive? - a perpetual stiff shrug with closed eyes It felt quite unfair and unreal He had more than enough to deal with his own memories - a gust from the past Every step full of pulsating pain The psychologist has given him breathing exercises, but he simply can't do it When the gray morning breaks, you'll find an empty place

Chilling and, unfortunately, a feel I've witnessed in loved ones, not because of survival guilt, but other. This poem showcases the depth of your talent. CayCay
