A Writer Was Born
~~*~~
I can still recall my attic room in grandma's house
where I played with my teddy and my dolls
it was a perfect little girl room overlooking a garden
oh, I loved the floor, the windows, and the walls
and each day, I would imagine a fantasy tale
so, I could leave my sadness just for a little while
yes, I would set sail on an adventure
with my companions, teddy and my many dolls
a medical person would probably say
I spent too much time in this make believe haze
but it helped me to let go of my truth and malaise
and I like to believe that in that pretty attic room
under the spell of make believe adventure
the writer in me- was born
