A Wooded Trail

I was walking down a wooded trail. Sunlight filtered in through the trees. I came across a weathered fence, post and rail. The fence held a hive of noisy, busy bees. I looked across an open field. There stood a beautiful white-tailed deer. The buck used the bushes as a shield. I moved a bit, he then ran off in fear. The trees and bushes were lush and green. So dense, that there was a hush all around. I walked on, feeling so serene. Beautiful and peaceful, this place I have found. I heard the sound of trickling water nearby. I looked around and found a natural spring. It came from the mountains, a fresh water supply. Nature has given us everything. The sunlight was beginning to fade. It was time to leave this special place. What beauty this day had displayed. I am leaving with a wistful smile on my face.

What a beautiful journey you took us on Sandra. I could almost smell that musty smell the woods have. Nice work. Blessings, Susan Maree

Sandra, What a wonderful walk in nature within the refrains of your poem. I plucked the light, the sights, and the stillness like strings from a guitar. -Richard
