A Widow's Lot

The lines upon the widow's face reflect her struggles, pain and tears: a constant battle to survive has been her lot for many years; she doesn't grumble, won't complain, but just accepts her passing nears. written 5th March for Constance's Life's Struggles contest

Very descriptive and emotive work. I have know many women who were widowed and they kept on keeping on. Most were not interested in marrying the second time. Thanks for all the visits to my page. Sara

Oh what a deeply touching piece Jack. I could see her all alone in the world. So sad. A good one for the contest. Good luck. God Bless, JB

Oh, I love your take of the contest, Jack. I wish I was like this Widow, I constantly complain, that is one reason I write poetry. Good luck in the contest. The mouse story was 3/4 true. With the freeze we had a couple of weeks ago here in South Texas , little brother wrapped my pipes then when it was over took the blanket off and found the frozen rat. oooo.. I figure his cats got it ...

Hi Jack, You penned such a sad, heartfelt write about a widow grieving after losing her beloved. Many live the rest of their lives alone. Best wishes in the contest. Have a great day and weekend- Alexis
