A Whimsical Dream

Poetry	
is an excuse
to dream.....
when whims
like wild flowers
out of the void bloom
when emotions
go off like ripe fruits
from a tree
and heart swims
like a swan 
down river!

as I configure words
saying beyond
what can’t be said
I long
to become an Ali Baba
with the magic mantra
‘Open Sesame’
to unlock hearts
lying shut
with my feet
on the ground
and my head
in the stars

Oh! The whimsical dream
of a poet...!

Bewitched was a tv program from the 60s and her name was Samantha. Dreams and even daydreams provide a treasure trove of inspiration. Happy New year Valsa. Tom

I do not write about my dreams. They would be all nightmares. Have you ever seen Bewitched? I don't believe in good witches, but guess what masterpieces I would write if I were Samantha. Lovely poem though.
