A Weed In a Meadow of Flowers

Some days I stand alone Like a weed In a meadow of flowers Under a tree And the sun shines bright But I can not feel its warmth For the tree was blocking me from its light Other Days I am a bird Soaring above all else Soaking in all of the sun’s rays Nothing can bring me down, Or have enough impact To cause me to land

Beautiful! Both stanzas are great but I think I like the first best. The image of standing alone in a field of flowers implies a feeling of being calm and silent and centered. Welcome to the soup

To me the poems with the simplest subject matters are the funnest to play with. You did an amazing job with that here, I see this taking about the 'on and off' days we all have but the description and imagery make it so much more. Really enjoyed the read :) thanks for sharing!
