A Time Like This

Words mean nothing at a time like this You probably cannot hear them anyway Sometimes the ones we hear during bereavement make us feel worse Silence is what I crave in these times Feelings you have never had before, and will never have again rise in your head. Because every death is different. Feelings come out in each one, that you have never experienced. Every death is a reminder of another death. Because this Is the only time people are so loving to each other that even the loving hurts Every smell, sound and sight reminds you of your loved one. There is an empty pillow An empty dent in the bed. An empty everything. Words are not enough Nothing is. Please know that prayers are being sent From all over the world to you and your family. Poets and other friends are helping you the best way we know how It is all we have to give. Take these prayers and fly. Dream as much as you can. Take care of yourself. Do what you have to do to get through this. If you need to talk, let me know. I can give you my phone number. Send me a message.

You are most welcome my friend. I was writing this to a specific friend who lost her husband this week. Her name was included in two spots, but I deleted her name to protect her privacy when I put this on this site.
