Old Note: Written about my friend's cousin, that took her own life (rumored to be so) over her boyfriend's unfaithfulness and phone call breaking up with her.
Life presents its darkness and innocence suffers from having no armor to shield its tender and  soft born heart..

New Note: Here forty-one years later, this dark world  ramps up its darkness and innocence still devoid of armor, suffers greater, deeper and more destructive blows than ever before. We do not see that because we are conditioned to say,
"such is life and glad it is not me or mine".. such can never be me or mine",
yet truth, is such could one day be...

My last poem for the year of 2018. I wanted it to be about life, reality, and reveal that which some would rather not see, hear, read or even write about-- the dark, the epic darkness and its victims in this wicked world.
A Tender Rose That Was Crushed What sweet rose, did you dare to crush in your hate and maddening rush, with dark heart demanding it all can you, that horror now recall? What tears fell, while you raced to dance on shattered remains of romance, as misery and its black march set her love's thirsty lips to parch? What wicked score did you dare keep when nights so pained, her soul did weep with sorrows that have no good end her dear life she then chose to end? What sweet rose, did you dare to crush in your hate and maddening rush, with dark heart demanding it all can you, that horror now recall? R.J. Hello Robert, Happy New Year. You know something..some men do not know that they have a good woman by their side. So theyruine it for themselves by cheating on theit good woman... That hurts to.So i do feel for your cousin. Have a nice evening my friend.

It's a boon to us all that there is a poet as gifted as you who does use his pen to engage the darkest corners of the human condition. Another fine poem from the painful places.

Human love is fallible... judgmental, most offend times non committed the only perfect love is Gods.. But if we just Try more to be as Him this would be a better world. Let's let God choose and show us who and how to love... Brilliant write James

Happens too many times , doesn't it? Not enough love in this world, I suppose. We're fortunate to get our share, some aren't. Well done my friend...

A very sad and lovely poem Robert. It makes me reflect on last words that I've said to friends and loved ones. Since we don't know what the future holds we should say the right words. Have a blessed day my friend.
