A Taste of Wales

Sifted flour with sprinkled spice, cinnamon will do. Creamy butter, chilled and diced eggs and raisins too. Baking will complete ~ this tasty treat. 17.10.19 An Epulaeryu poem is a poem that is entirely about food. It has seven lines with a total of thirty-three syllables. The meter of the poem is set so that it is, 7/5/7/5/5/3/1. Welsh cakes are traditional in Wales and have been popular since the late 19th century. I have fond memories of coming home from school to be offered a warm, sugar-sprinkled Welsh cake fresh off the griddle! Delicious!

How lovely to have such a personal comment, Rico! That's just up the road from my Mum's in Bridgend! Thank you so much for reading and 'stopping by'.

Thank you,Matthew. I can easily bypass the shop made ones but Mum's are something else! She won the village Welsh cake award year on year!

Hi Mark There are no 1st 2nd 3rd etc in these blogs just two types of placements - PP and HM but no ranking between each. So congratulations on your placement too. I enjoyed your take on it.

Mmm I love em, Daughter introduced me to them and always bring some home. There's a shop in Cardiff that bakes them fresh and they're still warm as you eat them. Tom.

At least there are two fellow poets who appreciate what I'm referring to! Thanks for 'stopping by', Tom.

Also with a sprinkling of cinnamon? I can almost taste it just thinking about it - another one of Mum's 'repertoire'! Thanks again for all the fun challenges,Brian.
