A Tale of Love

"Truth is the measured distance between the eyes of lovers" When love's amber light turned deep red from a caress We became a woven thread within space and time To open love's old bundled tendrils to confess All our past sins and life frailties we had to climb In a commonality so long forgotten We freed the pains of yesterdays with their release To rest in love's eyes naturally begotten Wrapped in the welcoming arms of passionate peace Perhaps we were found worthy of the gift it gives One we will guard and treasure, a precious jewel Yet, never to be hidden, in the light love lives Our two blissful hearts with a sense of renewal With fervor, we will find love's wellspring to drink from And travel the rivers and streams of love's desire Through turmoil's wrath of shades and shadows not succumb When we cross the human conflicts that can conspire When love's amber light turned deep red from a caress In a commonality so long forgotten Perhaps we were found worthy for the gift it gives With fervor, we will find love's wellspring to drink from 12/2/20 contest My Created Form sponsor Constance La France
