A Summer Rain
Pitter patter goes the rain,
Tapping 'gainst my window pane.
Washing down the leaves and trees,
And cleaning out my cluttered eaves;
Replenishing the ponds and streams,
And beautifying everything.
Lulling me to peaceful dreams,
Of lazy, hazy Summer scenes;
Painting pictures so serene,
And making things smell pristine clean.
It calms and soothes my very soul,
When such beauty I behold.
