A Souper Goodbye (Re- Post)

how do i say good bye
to a group of girls
and a crowd of guys
and try to speak
with tears in eyes
of struggles we have
vocalized
of emotions we have
emphasized
of passions we have
recognized
of feelings we hope others
realize
of truth a little
compromised
in short
we let the world know
that we spoke
and that we spoke
eloquently

God made broken hearts
pick up pens
and write what
he was saying to them
God took creative minds
and wrote purposes
so divine
God put love in lonely hearts
that picked up pens
and created art
and unlike most
that toast the occasion
tempted by the devil
to drink and forget
we the scribes
chisel our words in stone
reminding our posterity
that they are not alone
each and every word has grown
and some times spoken from
the Throne
our speech, our claim
our poem
WILL LIVE ON!

(dear soupers, I'm not going anywhwere. it's a re-post)

You better not ... we only go when we make final transition - not your prerogative or mine ... I just want your words of faith and wisdom to shine on the dark pages of each heart ... bravo for the write, my friend.

Don't think that I had read it.. Like what you had to say...I especially like the lines that say "we scribes chisel our words in stone"..Keep the creative pen flowing...Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my work "NIght Of Desire"...I liked the way Doris corrected me..I wasn't altogether talking about sex but it was metaphoric language or allegory..Sara

Woosh.. I was so worried, you were leaving us, as I started to read this wonderful poem, and I so happy that it is just poetry you write, dear one, and nice poetry it is, our words eternal from our hearts, and our pens.. they do indeed live.. have a life of their own... and thanks so much, John, for your very wonderful comments on my poetry...they make my heart soar... love Constance

Perfection...gone to my favorites..Excellent writing, John iii BIG SMILES from this one. May God bless your life with all that you and your family needs. SUGGESTION: Good bye is too permanent. How about "Until the Morrow" for a title...anything but not good-bye. You will be missed. Love and THANKS for your words, loving kindness...friendship. Love to you and yours. Forever. Stay in touch, my poet friend. Lovingly, Dane Ann
