A Song For Simplicity

Song for Simplicity 9/1/2023 I am impressed by a poem’s sweet simplicity, Add to that…your inherent,extraordinary humility. Humungus words that most cannot comprehend. Leave me lost. in a verbiage that never ends! The last thing I ever want is to be distressed. I want the poet, not his words meant to impress. Clarity and vision…glow gold, on my poetry dial. The true sense of you, is what makes my soul smile!

Thank you, Lisa. I can be soft and gentle. But life is anything but. I am fearless at telling the truth. Poetry should speak your truth. always. We are not friends with all we know, are we? I like truthful folks only. If they are pig ..headed I do not read them. Humility is the sign of a great poet.and self assurance …ruining another poet! A sign mental illness.. destroying other relationships here is sick! Pangie xx

I agree Gershon, I read some of Brontes poetry , it need not be in stage costume, as in an Opera! Nor in pounds of makeup makeyp and iin a language that twists and turn s, almost like a horrid valet performance. Effortlessness is great…one can breathe, Pamgie xx

When I read someone’s poetry, I don’t need to get lost in their head trips.I just want to know the message I have zero patience with long poems. Just read who you like and understand, Akkina. Hi Bob, I see that, even in comments, too! Poets don’t need to regurgitate all over poetry. I’ve been around the planet and some poets make it their stage to perfor with five syllable words. No at all impressive. Just insincere as a three dollar bill. Panahiota xx

So glad….you agree.))) ee Cummings wrote with divine simplicity. So did WH Auden and Emily Brontë. Soothing works with meaning The works of ee Cummings changed my life. It did not have my head in a Thesaurian whirlpool.! Frost, Sandburg are great, too. They wrote like-humans we know.)) An overly done poem is like a badly decorated Cake.)))
