A Snow Squall

During the evening
A strong wind blows
The wind has the snow
The snowflakes dances
Falling towards the ground
A view is blocked by
A snow squall seen
Appears and then goes

Suddenly peaceful
The wind has ceased
Fresh coat of snow fell
It has spread outward
Coating all the ground
With fresh fallen snow
Trees dressed with white
       coats
Warm from the cold wind

So well penned, Darlene. Your final 2 lines beautifully startle the reader with the overlap of a warm coat of snow on resilient trees. All the best, Brian

I stopped liking snow when I had to shovel it – unless I got paid to do it. Just kidding. We sometimes get severe snow squals in April, just when huge flocks of Canada geese settle down in fields of new spring grass – a rest stop to their northern destinations. I've written a poem about the sight. Thanks for posting your snow poem. / Maurice

I think winter can be quite stunning if we are watching it from the safety of our window, I always love it when the bright sun comes through. I close my eyes and pretend I'm somewhere sunny by the beach lol, thank you for the poem Darlene

Hello Mystic Rose,Rose, I like watching the snow squall as people walk by, to me it looks like they are floating in the air. because the feet can not be seen. Also footprints , or looks like footprints from the sunshine. Your welcome my friend.

Hi Darlene, so where I’m from is summer all year long. They are small islands so hardly humid for the ocean breeze keeps it cool. And of course the rain. So the temperature at night can drop to 70 degrees. However, I have been in the USA for quite a while so I am enjoying the 4seasons too :)

Teens where you are must be blessed with a different kind of common sense than teens here in Chicago -- who go outside in winter with no coats on. Oh, well... ~ Incredulous Parent

Darlene, I love this! I am finding that poets like snow, I think, on average more than other folks. Also, that many of us worry about trees getting cold! Isn’t that really interesting? I am sure it makes God smile too. Nicely penned

That's a snow squall alright. Get them here in Alberta often. The trees dressed in their white robes are a picture post card. Nicely done. God Bless, JB
