A Romantic Meeting
A romantic meeting (humor)
I finally asked the girl in the flower shop
if she wanted to go out with me
say, Saturday night
To my surprise, she said yes.
I will meet you under the railway clock at eight
she said.
I came there well before eight but stood on the other side of the road
It was winter and dark, but I had noticed a young woman
who I assumed was waiting for the train to arrive.
The train came and left, she looked at her own watch
and left.
Stubbornly, I stood there well past nine and concluded she was not coming
My feet were cold, and I felt betrayed.
