A Poet's Life Review
A life has passed; the years' account:
Was bravery shown at seasons' fount?
Was it a life made ever strong?
Did it show sense; did it know wrong?
Was purpose there to bear the load;
or did it take a different road?
Were daydreams, then, the sustenance,
and words that gave it arrogance?
Yet softness came with evening light,
borne on a wind that became night
And wisdom grew and cleared the sight
for pity to steal in with might.
Then words became the poet's slave,
and let the world their wisdom rave.
But were they brave at their last count?
Truth had become Brave's tantamount.
