A Poet's Dozen Ii-First Date
A Poet's Dozen II-First Date
Sponsor: Silent One
hallways before class
eye contact, chills up my spine
first date, Friday night
Exhilarated, I stare out the window looking for your old blue camaro,
I sway my long hair to the side, hand on my knee as I turn up the radio.
Hands held tight in school with sweet kisses on my cheek,
One look at you and I suddenly believed in true love at first sight.
Twenty years and counting of love letters and hand written journals,
I recall your scent at the alter right before we said our vows,
We were always right, baby, when we said our love would be eternal,
A precious baby girl with a beauty mark underneath her right eyebrow,
Twenty more years to come, we'll share a lifetime of love..profound.
