A Poem In Which I Tell You I Love You Without Saying It

one day, i hope you look in the mirror and see just how wonderful you are. i hope you look up from the sink and realize that you are exactly where you are meant to be. that every moment in your life has led you to this place in an order designed specifically for you. i hope you know that every sunset you have watched is simply a reminder that not all endings are permanent. that sometimes it is nothing more than the beginning of a new phrase. a new adventure you can’t explore if you refuse to move forward. i hope you remember how the pitter-patter of raindrops against your bedroom window gave you the courage to let it go. that it whispers ‘it’s ok, even the sky has to cry sometimes.’ and you never feel like you have to hold it back. i hope you remember every pine tree and cup of hot cocoa you smelled at Christmas. that it reminds you of the good days and leaves you with another memory to add to the list. i hope you hold onto every flower you’ve ever picked. that you understand how beauty refuses to entertain the idea of gender and you see just how beautiful every part of you truly is. i hope you think about every story you’ve told. the good ones... the bad ones... the best ones. that they help remind you to never stop talking. i hope one day you can look yourself in the eye and say “i’ve made it. i’m home.” someday i hope you know that you are incredible. that every inch of you is perfect. that every molecule of your being is laced with stardust. that you are so unbelievably, extraordinarily unordinary. and i hope you whole-heartedly believe it.
