A Place You Never Want To Be
The chief of police threatened me if I talked
Only a child, in the middle of the cover-up of a crime
I know what it’s like to have my voice stolen and silenced
I know the aloneness that comes with that silence
Now today, there is censorship and corruption too
Big tech wants to stop people from speaking
Not because those speaking are being offensive
But, to stifle truth as if it is worse than the plague we face
I feel that old feeling of being forbidden to speak
If this is where our country is heading in this way,
I can tell you, it is a dark place you never want to be
