A New Path

New Path I walked a new path today Going left instead of right Not finished yet My first lesson As the gravel rose Before me The work not done Next sections Cut but no gravel at all Teaching me that there are parts of me Where there is promise But the work is not started Further the path is complete The gravel smooth The trees cleared Finished...unfinished Then the end Is it the sacred place I know the other side of the pond to be At first no At first I did not feel God There with me Just brush and trees And the natural earth Looking closer I saw orange ties On the trees Marking the intended route Slowly my eyes were opened Not done yet His lessons came fast and furious A plan is needed Action needs to be taken Hard work to be done Then I did something new I went further Further into the wood To learn more lessons Out here in the unexplored parts Where intentions are known But work not done Beauty More places to get wet More opportunities to fail A lot more work to do And I realize That God is always present Always willing to teach Just needs me to open my eyes Open my heart To his lessons for today Coming back I picked up speed The air sticky, sun hot Around to my sacred place This time two others there with me Do not linger as long as before Two moose they said Saw two bull moose here the other day No one tells them where they must go Said I - they just go where they go Lessons in all things Now In this place Writing this piece I am left with Action I can have all kinds of intentions I can have all kinds of ideas Dreams and visions Only through action Will anything get accomplished Suffering is optional Gordon Martin, August 23, 2018
