Walking In Cambridge

A rainy August day in Massachusetts Down in Somerville weather is cool On a wet Sunday afternoon See me skipping puddles pass Sanders theatre Shoes swimming in blues From Kirkland Street to Harvard Square I go Watch a beautiful Bostonian show, now you know I take the Red line train to Davis Square See YOU there At Burren an Irish band sets up to play I heard Commons is cold today, what do you say Meet me at the Harbor We'll watch Sail boats dancing in the rain Think I'm falling in love Boston's happening to me Suddenly I belong Like a song to a movie Must be falling in love She's got heartbeat to Woo me Twinkling Stars abound Angels fly over her City

The first time I became entranced with Boston, was when I found a book on my father's bookshelf. It was a ghost story set in a brownstone in Boston.America doesn't fascinate me that much, but Boston, because of it's rich political history (particularly the Tea Party) & New York, possibly Salem. Absolutely more research required.

I'm a small island man...where small troubles pile up to create big ones...Here in Boston for a short time but amazed at the brains that walk about its street...truly blessed to be among the world's finest...So I wrote what I have been doing, seeing and feeling...which will remain with me forever...

Lovely poem, made me want to learn more about a country that professes to be the leader of the Western World, but so effed up in so many ways. Whilst touted as the Land of the Free and Home of the brave, so not free in so many ways.

Arturo, your enchanting verse took me back to a wonderful weekend spent in Boston, where I saw many of the sites you describe so beautifully. It would be hard not to fall in love with "her." I wonder if this is your hometown, or a place you visited recently. Hugs, Carolyn

Hello Arturo, A wondrous verse and journey into Boston!! I was in that city and the surrounding area many times in past years, and actually attended several military courses as an Army officer at Fort Devens (West of Boston) years ago when it was an active military base. Boston and the surrounding city areas are magnificent and full of cultural heritage and history!! I really enjoyed your verse here!! Best Wishes, Gary

Thank you Brandy...I guess it's because I walk the talk at least twice a week, so it's real...although my time is coming to an end here...somehow I'll remain...maybe love will find a way...All the best...A nice day to you...It's still a rainy day in Massachusetts...
