I have been on a journey from- I must possess,
thinking, I need to have ... and somehow get;
and would acquire, secure it no matter the stress,
I would caress it- ignoring the debt !
But, I was not happy and for the next thing grasping,
there was always some new need- to obtain;
and when I had it, this thing ... I was gasping,
for there was no happiness in the gain !
Oh yes, I have been on a long, long path twisting,
and have arrived at a place ... I call soul;
I am in reality- and not just existing,
my only need now is to go for a forest stroll !
I am tranquil and serene in a place of Zen,
my new life is now one ... of quiet grace;
and my meditated thoughts fall from my pen,
I live at my own pace and have become all that I embrace !
