A Lonely Night
I declined going to a party,I'm sat thinking about you on a lonely night
I wish I could say it's only right
I had to buy myself some beautiful nightmares because love is overpriced
I'm sat here drinking while thinking about how you hurt me on this lonely night
For a while I put my mask on because I wasn't ready to face it
The tears of a wounded man who was never appreciated
I would have took a bullet for you, but you wouldn't even notice I'd been shot
But one day you'll wake up and realise what you lost
My mind is in a war it feels like I'll never feel peace
I thought I was heartless but it Still beats
My heart is just more cold than ever, and won't be shared again
You broke something so pure and beautiful, I don't know if my heart can be repaired again
I wiped your tears but you didn't even notice mine
I worked so hard to make you happy, you didn't appreciate my overtime
Every heartbroken poet says they don't want to cry no more
But I don't want to write again because that's when I know I'm happy for sure
I know I'm a long way off reaching that goal
With my heart so damaged, I'm just focused on keeping my soul
This song playing explains exactly how I feel
I wrote a text out to send you, but my vodka spilled
While I sit here on this lonely night
I'm wondering why you did me so wrong when I treated you right
But I forgot girls don't like guys who are nice
I need to make it through this lonely night
