A Little Too Dumb

Ever since I was a little boy
sucking on me big thumb
Me kin and most doctors
said I was just a little too dumb
They say I don't know
what's going on around me,
I'm oblivious to it all
That I be just a scrawny black kid
in patchy overalls
They say I got an IQ that's a bit low,
and that my learning skills are a tad slow
Saying I'm a little too dumb
to ever grow
into some big thinker
like Einstein or Galileo
But I suppose that's alright with me,
I get plenty of everything I want,
plus an extra helping of sympathy
Everybody's always doting over me,
giving me smooches and sweets
Guess they all are just a little too dumb
to see how smart I be

Freddie, Your writing takes me back in time. I was a fat white kid in patchy overalls! I know you have bittersweet memories! I also know you have a new fan of your poetic endeavors, a fat old fart enjoying A Little Too Dumb! 7+++ My best to you, chuck

This was cute and funny and devious my friend. Yep, don't discount the little guy everyone is fussing over, he's got it much easier than you do. :)
