A Little Too Dumb
Ever since I was a little boy
sucking on me big thumb
Me kin and most doctors
said I was just a little too dumb
They say I don't know
what's going on around me,
I'm oblivious to it all
That I be just a scrawny black kid
in patchy overalls
They say I got an IQ that's a bit low,
and that my learning skills are a tad slow
Saying I'm a little too dumb
to ever grow
into some big thinker
like Einstein or Galileo
But I suppose that's alright with me,
I get plenty of everything I want,
plus an extra helping of sympathy
Everybody's always doting over me,
giving me smooches and sweets
Guess they all are just a little too dumb
to see how smart I be
