A Lighthouse Keeper's Tale

A LIGHTHOUSE KEEPERS TALE Here; I am in my lighthouse, going around, in circles, literally But as a lighthouse keeper, I wouldn’t have it any differently I only do it to stop my missus, sending me around the bend We make contact once a year as I have some socks to mend 12 years into the job; is my missus lonely, absolutely no way Once a year; I give her a bairn, it keeps her busy, day to day Back at the lighthouse I get my freedom, she gets all my pay Both of us are happy that neither one of us is going to stray One day; I will retire, when there are no more socks to mend And my missus is way too tired to send me around the bend Indiana Shaw . . . : )

Actually; it started as an end rhyme, but; by the time I got to the 3rd line, I thought, if I carry on like this, it's going to drive me around the bend, the rest was history . . . ; )
